Fortinet receives top Frost & Sullivan award
Dubai, December 3, 2012
US-based network security appliances company, Fortinet, has received the 2012 Middle East Product Line Strategy Award in the Middle East Network Security Market, from Frost & Sullivan.
The award was presented in recognition of the leadership position of Fortinet’s FortiGate product suite of network security appliances, a statement from the company said. With those solutions, Fortinet delivers an exceptional level of performance, deployment flexibility, and security for large as well as small and medium business (SMB) networks.
The move toward next-generation security gateways has seen tremendous traction from the enterprise mindshare. Launch of its new models in the high-end, mid-range, and low-end segments has placed Fortinet as a key market player, the statement said.
The Frost & Sullivan Product Line Strategy Award is given to a company that has demonstrated excellence by continually focusing on innovation, translating customer insights into strong product lines, and showcasing a clear roadmap strategy.
Such initiatives enable companies to capture a significant market and mind share; and in the process generate immense visibility amongst customers, it said. The recipient of this award is chosen after assessing nominees on the basis of predetermined criteria and through extensive research.
The research process involves collecting information through primary research with industry experts, market participants, end users, other value chain players, and supplementing that with reliable secondary information, as well as Frost & Sullivan’s ongoing proprietary industry research.
Bashar Bashaireh, regional director at Fortinet Middle East, said: “We are honoured to be recognised by Frost & Sullivan for our technology innovation. This award has acknowledged the leading position of our FortiGate product line in providing next generation of network security solutions to the enterprise.”
“Fortinet’s product development has always been driven by the objective of delivering innovation that helps shape the market. To that end, our recently announced FortiOS 5.0 operating system, which underlies our FortiGate suite, delivers unique features that bring more intelligence to network security,” he added. “Fortinet will continue to significantly invest in R&D and sales support to provide the best protection to our customers.”
Haritha Ramachandran, programme manager, information and communication technologies (ICT) practice, Frost & Sullivan, said: “Although, the Middle East is a highly-competitive market, Fortinet remains one of the fastest-growing vendors in the region.”
“With its clear vision for network security, combined by its emphasis on continual product development, Frost & Sullivan expects Fortinet to further consolidate its position in the market during the next few years.” – TradeArabia News Service
