Info2cell.com releases new apps

Dubai, June 21, 2012

Info2cell.com has announced the release of new mobile apps that have been tailor-made to meet the demand of the country’s rapidly growing subscriber base, as it looks to reinforce its presence across the UAE’s mobile market.

The company’s confidence in stirring stronger market presence follows a recent report from the UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) showing that the country’s mobile subscriber penetration rate has reached 149.1 per cent, a statement from Info2cell said.

Aiming to capitalise on the vibrancy of the market, it has started to invest in the development of more customised apps and solutions that can address the demands of UAE subscribers, the statement said.

One of the focus points that the company is looking into is the utilisation of new technologies to achieve a more satisfying viewer experience for users when streaming video content from their phones, it said. One example of the new apps that Info2cell.com has rolled out into the regional market is the recently launched ‘For Woman’ application, which caters to female iPhone users. The app is a health and lifestyle software designed with a calendar and status bar. It features predictive tools for planning day-to-day activities and special events.

Bashar Al Dahabra, founder and CEO, Info2cell.com, said: “The Middle East region has one of the fastest growing mobile markets. This can be attributed to the growing popularity and affordability of smartphones, which is positioned as a ‘must-have’ tool for both professional and personal purposes.”

“With this in mind, we are seeing an increased demand for apps that can meet various needs of our subscribers; from information on-the-go, the latest stock news to even a cooking recipe that you can access by the touch of your fingers. We remain steadfast in living up to our commitment of providing our subscribers with world-class apps, services and solutions, and aim to play a major role in consolidating the UAE’s position as a highly mature telecoms market,” Al Dahabra said.

Over the last few years, Info2cell.com has maintained its position as a leading provider of mobile applications and content for the Mena markets. To date, the company manages over half a million subscribers and accommodates up to 100 mobile requests per second. – TradeArabia News Service
