Labour Minister visits Batelco

Bahrain Minister of Labour Jameel bin Mohammed Humaidan recently visited Batelco’s headquarters in Hamala, where he was welcomed by Batelco Group CEO Shaikh Mohamed bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The general secretary of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions, Sayed Salman Jaffer Al Mahfoodh; Chamber of Commerce representative, Mohamed Al Amer; Batelco Group HR general manager, Shaikh Ahmed Al Khalifa; and Batelco Bahrain HR general manager, Suhaila Alnowakhda; were also present.

During their meeting, the Minister extended his appreciation and praise to Batelco for its efforts in welcoming a number of employees back to the company noting that the whole process was very smooth with no reports of issues being received by the Labour Ministry, a statement from the company said. 

“Our human resources division with the support of our executive management and the Ministry of Labour worked tirelessly for months to ensure a smooth transition period for those staff who were returning to Batelco following the difficulties of the past year,” Shaikh Mohammed said.

Batelco recognises the importance of its employees; their wellbeing is paramount and accordingly the company provides a range of benefits to support them and their families, the statement said. A variety of training and development programmes are available for employees’ personal growth as well as ensure that they have relevant knowledge and tools to carry out their jobs efficiently.

“The teamwork displayed by our employees on a day-to-day basis is a driving factor in keeping Batelco in its leading position in the local telecoms market,” Shaikh Mohammed added.
