Du appointed PMI council member
Dubai, January 18, 2012
Du has become one of the first companies in the Middle East to be appointed into Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Global Executive Council.
PMI is the world’s leading project management member association. As a Council member, du joins an elite group of industry-leading decision makers who constantly look for innovative ways to improve project, program and portfolio management; exchange best practices and increase the percentage of successful project-related investments within their own organisations.
Farid Faraidooni, chief commercial officer, du, said: “Reviewing research, exchanging benchmarking data, and sharing best practices with this premier group of market-leading organisations will ultimately deliver both client and shareholder value that leads to long-term results. Our membership in the PMI Global Executive Council demonstrates our company’s commitment to excellence in programme performance.”
The organisations approved for participation in the council are mature and credible in their organisational project management (OPM) practices, and actively utilise and promote PMI standards, programmes and services, a statement from the telecommunications company said.
Council members serve as global advocates and ambassadors for all project management practitioners and aim to create new standards of organisational project management, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
