Etisalat hosts ICT workshop

Etisalat recently hosted a focused group workshop in Dubai Airport Freezone (Dafza) to showcase how information and communication technologies (ICT) can accelerate the pace of development for organisations.
This development can take place with improvement in service provision, cost reduction and lasting customer value, a statement from the telecommunications company said.
The one day workshop focused on emerging ICT trends such as mobility solutions and fixed line services, the statement said.
With technology becoming increasingly important in the delivery of public services, Etisalat’s ICT workshop addressed key issues facing organisations today, whilst giving in-depth analysis through thought-provoking discussions on relevant topics such as – harnessing mobility to achieve optimum efficiency, significance of data centre rationalisation and outsourced managed services.
Abdulla Hashim, senior vice president, ICT, Etisalat, said: “Today, organisations face enormous challenge with respect to achieving budget savings, becoming more data-efficient while increasing productivity. ICT is a key factor to realise efficiency, savings and transform service delivery. During the workshop, Etisalat demonstrated its end-to-end managed telecom & ICT capabilities and customised solutions.
The focal point of the workshop was to guide the organisations to create a sustainable ICT strategy for the future, and leverage the already existing ICT infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the company hosted a workshop for organisations in Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) yesterday (December 25) at RIT Dubai Campus, focusing on emerging ICT trends such as cloud computing and mobility solutions.
Etisalat demonstrated all three types of clouds; private, public and hybrid clouds, the statement said.
