HP names MD for Levant, Iraq region

Amman, October 20, 2011

HP Middle East has appointed regional veteran Salah Al Isawi as the new country managing director for the Levant and Iraq region.

In his new role, Al Isawi will manage HP’s overall direction and strategy for the Levant region, including planning and execution across all market segments in addition to strengthening HP presence in Iraq.

The Levant and Iraq are key markets for HP, with the company’s operations in Jordan undergoing expansion and concerted development in Iraq and Lebanon.

The addition of Al Isawi to lead his team in developing strategic partnerships with the Levant’s public and private sectors will further this growth, said HP in a statement.

He will provide the support integral to increasing market share across all sectors but predominantly for Enterprise Business, it added.

“Salah Al Isawi is going to be edifying for our Jordan operations, as well as being a benefit to HP in the wider region by bolstering our presence in Iraq and Lebanon,” said Eyad Shihabi, managing director, HP Middle East.

“His inherent knowledge of the region and expertise in the industry will provide HP with the means to implement HP's plan to become the main Cloud enabler in our region and the customers’ first choice,” he added.

A Jordanian national with more than 10 years in IT, Al Isawi has many years experience in the Gulf as well as Jordan and Iraq, giving him a deep comprehension of the local and regional markets.

Prior to joining HP, Al Isawi worked with EMC, with his most recent position as country sales manager for Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Palestine.

His previous experience includes Roamware, where he held the position of sales director, Mena. Before that he was Sales Manager with Emirates Computers based in Abu Dhabi.

Al Isawi holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Jordan.-TradeArabia News Service
