SanDisk unveils 64GB SD card

SanDisk Corporation, a global leader in flash memory storage solutions, has unveiled the 64GB SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-I card as part of a comprehensive new suite of retail products.
The company doubled the performance and capacity of its professional-grade imaging line-up to create a new SD card based on the latest SD 3.0 specification's Ultra High Speed (UHS) bus architecture.
The card offers the fastest write performance of any SD card in the world to date and is ideal for imaging enthusiasts using UHS-enabled cameras, the company said in a statement.
“We are very excited with the opportunities opening up for SanDisk with the growth of professional photography. The event serves as a platform to preview our innovative product line- up in the coming months,” added Tareq Husseini, SanDisk’s regional sales director, Middle East and Africa, SanDisk.
The card writes up to 90 megabyte per second (Mb/sec) and lets photographers capture a series of RAW images using burst mode, and its UHS Speed Class 1 rating can record Full HD videos, the statement said.
The card features read speeds up to 95Mb/sec, capable of supporting transfer of photos to a computer in half the time that it usually takes. SanDisk Extreme Pro SDHC and SDXC UHS-I cards come in 8GB to 64GB capacities, and will soon be available in the region. – TradeArabia News Service
