Masafi, a leading FMCG brand in the region, has won the ‘Eco-Enterprise Innovation’ honours at this year's edition of the Oracle Excellence Awards, said its IT partner Raqmiyat.
A leading UAE-based systems integrator, Raqmiyat said it has helped address Masafi’s IT business requirements with the provision of a strategic IT vision and roadmap.
Masafi was one of the 15 winners worldwide at this year's edition of the awards, Raqmiyat said in a statement.
Jeff Henley, chairman of Oracle Corporation presented the award to Tapas Roy, CEO of Raqmiyat during 'Oracle OpenWorld 2011' held in San Francisco, US.
Raqmiyat, which has maintained a strong partnership with Oracle over the last few years and is officially designated to implement and provide solutions on its e-Business suite and technology suite, nominated Masafi for its implementation of initiatives directed towards protecting the environment and saving energy and resource costs.
The award was presented to Masafi in recognition of the company’s use of Oracle products and solutions as part of its move to take an environmental lead, reduce its costs and improve business efficiencies by using ‘green’ businesses practices, it added.
“Oracle, our customers and our partners are continually discovering innovative uses for Oracle technology and deploying ground-breaking solutions and best practices to address customer need,” said Jeb Dasteel, senior VP and chief customer officer, Oracle.
“The awards offers Oracle a unique opportunity to honor customers and partners for their continued dedication to driving business value and success in the industry,” he added.
The strategic partnership between Raqmiyat and Masafi has helped the latter create a paperless environment saving over two million pages of paper per year and reducing the company’s carbon foot print, said the statement.
Receiving the award, Roy, said, "This is truly a remarkable win for Masafi, which is a fitting testament to its strong and continued commitment towards sustainability and innovation."
"Masafi takes pride in being the first company in the Middle East to be recognized for this award from Oracle and places both Raqmiyat and the Middle East region on the map for its sustainable IT practices, innovation and move towards adopting more ‘green’ initiatives," he added.
Yunus Dohadwala, CFO of Masafi said, "We are humbled and honored to be named as one of the top winners in this prestigious award, which reflects the strong stance we have made towards promoting the adoption of more 'green' policies and guidelines."
"This recognition gives us the confidence to continue our sustainability efforts and inspire other companies to follow. We would also like to thank Raqmiyat for their implementation of the strategic Oracle solutions that have helped us achieve positive results," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
