Iomega expands network storage offerings

Dubai, October 9, 2011

Iomega, an EMC company and a global leader in data protection, has announced the Middle East launch of its new StorCenter PX series of network storage products.

Iomega said the new series of desktop and rackmount NAS devices have created specifically for high performance use at small- to medium-sized businesses and distributed enterprises.

The devices are currently being demonstrated by Iomega at Gitex 2011, said a company statement.

Powered by EMC storage technology, the StorCenter PX Series features four-bay and six-bay desktop models and a four-bay rackmount model, each available in scalable configurations at competitive prices.

Iomega said SMBs, remote offices and distributed enterprise users throughout the Middle East will benefit from the optional use of SSD drives to drive even higher performance.

Easy to set up, simple to manage, affordable to own, Iomega’s new StorCenter PX series of network storage devices range from diskless with no included storage up to 18TB of storage capacity.

The PX Series also includes award-winning Iomega Personal Cloud technology, empowering users to protect and share data from virtually anywhere without any incremental costs, said a senior official.

Cizar Abughazaleh, general manager for Iomega (MEA), said the new series are powerful business class NAS devices designed to meet and exceed the network storage needs of the Middle East’s small and mid-sized businesses.

"The PX series has the same easy-to-use LifeLine operating system and hardware designed and tested by the same team that produces EMC’s enterprise network storage products," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
