Jumbo Electronics, a leading UAE-based consumer electronics company, is set to showcase the latest, trend-setting IT products at this year’s Gitex Shopper and Gitex Technology Week.

Associated with Gitex Shopper since inception, Jumbo said its enterprise solutions unit Jumbo-EAJ will be present at Gitex Technology Week which runs from Oct 9 to 13.

"Gitex Shopper is an extremely important event for us because it gives us the opportunity to connect with customers and is also a great indicator of which products are in highest demand," said Deepak Khetrapal, CEO, Jumbo Electronics.

Last year, Jumbo recorded a double digit per cent increase in sales at Gitex Shopper and looks to out perform that at this year’s event, especially with a high demand for laptops and tablets, said Khetrapal.

While traditionally Jumbo has only been associated with Shopper at Gitex, the participation of Jumbo-EAJ at Gitex Technology Week is line with the company’s aim to strengthen its non-retail divisions.

Khetrapal said the group was excited about Jumbo-EAJ’s participation at the event.

Jumbo-EAJ provides design, building, network consulting and innovative IT hardware and software solutions across various industries, including hospitality, retail, education, healthcare and finance, he explained.

"Having established ourselves as the leading consumer electronics distributor in the UAE, the growth of Jumbo-EAJ reflects our strategy of expanding beyond our retail business. Currently, non-retail segments account for three quarters of Jumbo’s overall business," he added.
