Batelco said it will make a detailed submission outlining its case to the Bahrain Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA) over a notice issued to the telecom operator.

The regulator issued the notice over complaints that the company has been implementing anti-competitive practices in some international markets.

The TRA has given Batelco until October 13 to respond to the allegations.

'Batelco has been informed of this decision and is in the process of making a detailed submission to the TRA outlining reasons why we believe we acted fairly and consistent with the regulatory and competitive laws of the kingdom,' said Batelco Bahrain chief executive officer Rashid Abdulla.

'We look forward to the opportunity to outline our case to the TRA and we are confident we will receive a fair hearing,' he added.-TradeArabia News Service
