Batelco slashes business broadband rates

Manama, June 11, 2011

Batelco, Bahrain’s leading business solutions services provider, has slashed rates on its business broadband packages by up to 42 per cent.

The discounted rates are being implemented automatically, with the upgrade already in process having started on June 8, a statement said.

Batelco’s business broadband service now offers unlimited threshold on all packages with high speeds up to 16 Mbps using ADSL2 technology, it added.

Subscribers to Batelco’s 6 Mbps package will also be automatically migrated to the 8Mbps package.

Batelco’s Internet service is provisioned over a cutting edge NGN (Next Generation Network) connected to the public Internet network through highly diversified international links connecting Batelco to the outside world through different locations.  Such infrastructure provides diversity for international routes and hence ensures Internet continuity for customers.

This enhancement delivered by Batelco follows the recent major overhaul to Batelco’s consumer broadband packages whereby customers benefited from a combination of faster speeds, higher threshold limits and lower prices in automatic upgrades which took place in February.

“We are very pleased to be delivering this great tariff reduction for our business customers. Batelco considers the needs of its customers as its number one priority and responds to their feedback by developing services that improve their communication facilities,” said Batelco Group general manager Media Relations Ahmed Al Janahi. – TradeArabia News Service
