Bahrain eGA signs up as ICT event partner

The eGovernment Authority (eGA), responsible for co-ordinating and executing e-government initiatives in Bahrain, has signed as a strategic partner for the upcoming "Meet ICT 2011" conference.
“The Convergence of ICT Leaders” will be held under the patronage of Kamal Bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Cabinet Affairs from June 20 to 22 at the Crown Plaza Hotel.
Held for the second time in the Kingdom, the event is set to attract prominent experts and specialists in the ICT field and will hold workshops aimed to enhance the engagement of such expertise.
It is being conducted with the collaborative efforts of Gulf Future Business, BISTA (Bahrain ICT Suppliers’ Trade Association functioning under Bahrain Internet Society).
On the partnership, Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, CEO of the eGovernment Authority said, “The eGA is keen on its strategic partnership for this immense convention, which will contribute, without a doubt to acknowledge the latest innovation in the ICT industry as well as the continuous challenges emerging in this sector.”
He also emphasized on the essential outcomes of this convention which includes important recommendations that will shed light on the current situation in the region and means to enhance the use of ICT in various fields.
Ahmed Al Hujairy, CEO of Gulf Future Business, said the convention was an opportunity for decision makers, specialists and experts in the domain of ICT from over 30 countries to assemble and discuss various means to improve the use of technology in the region as well as solutions implemented to face challenges.
"This convention is an educational opportunity for everyone because it will include a rich base of exchange of expertise in this field," he added.
A key highlight at the conference is the panel discussion to be held on June 20 and 21 as well as workshops conducted on 22nd by experts in the field of ICT.
The event will also include field visits for the international delegations to meet the large national entities specialized in this ICT industry.
The convention will host over 34 speakers who will present different topics related to ICT and mainly about latest technological orientations, IT administration, implication of wired, mobile communication on businesses, multimedia content and e-learning channels.
The list includes Prof Peter Bruke, chairman of the World Summit Award, Austria, Tareq Hejazi, director of Microsoft Oman and Bahrain, David Hughes from Intercai Mondiale Bahrain’s Branch, Ramzi Zeine, executive chairman of STS Jordan, Abdulla AlBaloushi, managing director of Omzest, Sultanate of Oman and Hesham AlSawi, President of Cairo IT Solutions from Egypt.
Moreover, Dr. Zakareya Al-Khaja, director of Policies and Business Processes Re-engineering at the eGovernment Authority will be a participant at one of the conference panel discussion sessions.-TradeArabia News Service
