Top honours for Bahrain e-government

Bahrain's eGovernment Authority has been awarded during a Security Strategist conference in Dubai for its initiatives towards spreading awareness about online risk and fraud.
The 2011 Security Strategist Editor's Choice Award follows the recent presentation of the ISO 27001 certificate, to the authority.
Bahrain has become the first country in the Middle East to receive an ISO certificate in the sector.
It received the award for its initiatives towards spreading awareness about online risk and fraud in addition to implementing international best practices in the field of information security.
The event was attended by international experts, specialists and decision-makers in the field of information and communication technology.
The authority also took the opportunity to launch a new Internet blog to communicate with the public at the event.
The blog will be used to spread the word about effective strategies to manage information security and features articles by the authority's policies and business processes re-engineering director Dr Zakareya Ahmed Al Khaja.
