Aastra opens training centres in ME

Dubai, April 5, 2011

Aastra Telecom, the Mena business unit of Canada-based enterprise communication leader Aastra Technologies, is now offering training for its channel partners and end-customers.

As part of its regional channel expansion strategy in Mena, Aastra is responding to the need for having local technical support centres and local training centers in the region, a statement said.

“We are happy to be able to offer technical as well as sales trainings in Dubai and Istanbul,” said Ahmet Altinova, head of technical support & training at Aastra in the Middle East.

“Not only business partners, but also 2nd tier resellers can now be certified by Aastra, and for that we are offering them an easy way to get the needed knowledge, without having to travel far away. Our training schedule can be found on our Web page.”

“All these systems and solutions are available in our training centers for hands-on technical trainings and practical sales and pre-sales workshops,” Altinova added, referring to Aastra’s enterprise communication solutions which include IP telephony, unified communications, contact centers and video conferencing.

Aastra, which acquired Ericsson’s global Enterprise business back in 2008, has taken over all Ericsson Enterprise products and channel partner programme and has developed them further, according to the statement.

“Aastra was at the forefront of the adoption of open standards. In a second phase we intend to offer generic training programmes around open standards unified communications for students and end-users, with the possibility of individual certifications,” Altinova concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
