The agreement will provide state-of-the-art, end-to-end multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) VPN services to UAE and Bahrain-based businesses that wish to establish secure inter-office connectivity between both locations.
Farid Faraidooni, chief commercial officer, du, said: “We are pleased to offer a carrier grade MPLS VPN solution to our UAE-based business customers, as well as providing our carrier partners with a one-stop-shop solution for transit services into Bahrain.”
“This facility, which will provide seamless IP data services between UAE and Bahrain, demonstrates our commitment to providing top-of-the-range, ultra-secure business solutions to our enterprise customers,” he added.
Adel Daylami, general manager enterprise, Batelco Bahrain, said: “This strategic bi-lateral understanding is an important addition to Batelco’s portfolio of OSS agreements, which enable us to extend our global IP VPN solution to our international customers through our partner’s reliable, state of the art network.”
“Accordingly, the benefit of Batelco and du’s shared network can be extended to our international customers.”
“This agreement complement Batelco’s range of global connectivity services such as global IP-VPN, IPLC, global satellite services and global datacenter that not only enhances efficiency by offering seamless, secure and dedicated interconnectivity but also the reliable support of a professional team working 24x7 in one of the region’s most sophisticated NOCs (network operation centres).”
Signing this agreement with Batelco will allow bi-lateral data IP Services to be sold between Bahrain and UAE, as well as providing one-stop-shop transit services to du’s carrier partners, a statement said.
The partnership comes in line with du’s international carrier relations (ICR) strategy, which focuses on the interconnection of GCC regional carrier MPLS networks in order to expand the company’s IP data services reach to all major GCC countries and provide seamless MPLS VPN services, it added.
Among the key benefits of the service for du’s carrier partners in Bahrain are seamless IP data services between the UAE and Bahrain, greater reach in the respective markets for data service connectivity, competitive pricing (dependant on volumes and commitment) and a one-stop-shop offering for the advantage of all parties, where du is the GCC partner of choice for services into Bahrain.
In addition, UAE-based enterprise clients will benefit from the extension of carrier grade VPN to their Bahrain-based office, a multiple-purpose service offering to cater to different office applications, and competitive pricing, as well as a one-stop-shop offering, where du is the partner of choice for global VPN solutions, according to the statement. – TradeArabia News Service
