Barcelona, February 19, 2011

Etisalat, UAE’s leading telecom service provider, has signed an agreement with Western Union that will enable Etisalat’s subscribers to send and receive Western Union money transfer transactions using accounts tied to their mobile phones.

The agreement was signed at the recently concluded World Mobile Congress in Barcelona.

Etisalat also signed two agreements with Alcatel-Lucent and Huawei to deploy the Middle East’s first LTE (long term evolution) network.
