Qtel Data Centre expands threefold

Doha, January 19, 2011

The major upgrade and expansion process for Qatar Telecom’s Qtel Data Centre, which began at the start of 2010, has now been completed to provide 300 per cent increased capacity.

A number of Qatar’s leading enterprises, including leaders in the aviation, industry, financial and real estate sectors, have already requested additional capacity to support their projected business growth in the coming months, a statement said.

Qtel’s pioneering upgrade to the Qtel Data Centre, which was the first in Qatar and which has become the most trusted, enables the facility to support a range of cutting-edge data solutions and services, and offers capacity on-demand to businesses across Qatar, it added.

The Qtel Data Centre now delivers comprehensive support for the full range of business IT infrastructure needs, from the transmission process to application provision, including advanced monitoring, backup and storage solutions, disaster recovery, business continuity and resiliency planning.

Qtel Data Centre provides a controlled environment that optimises the deployment of fundamental components such as power, cooling, and networking systems. Clients have the flexibility to focus on their core business functions, while Qtel Data Centre will provide end-to-end services as required. – TradeArabia News Service
