ICT issues to be probed at major forum

Manama, December 23, 2010

Bahrain will host one of the largest regional information technology and communications (ICT) conferences next year.

Being held under the patronage of Cabinet Affairs Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Ateyatala Al Khalifa, the Conference for Information Technology and Communications, MEET ICT 2011, will be held under the slogan 'The Convergence of ICT Leaders', from March 1 to 3.

The event is organised by Gulf Future Business Company, Bahrain ICT Suppliers Trade Association (Bista) and Bahrain Internet Society with the co-operation of the Bahrain eGovernment Authority.

Organising committee chairman Ubaydli Al Ubaydli said Bista's participation in organising the event proves Bahrain is an ideal regional location to host large technology companies.

'It also highlights the ICT industry in the Middle East and contributes to the role which companies in the Gulf play in the future by spreading awareness, providing experiences and international best-practice skills,' he added.

He said the conference will include presentations by international speakers, specialists and guests on a regional and international level.-TradeArabia News Service
