Toshiba wins Kuwait ministry deal

Kuwait , October 11, 2010

Arabian Business Machines (ABM), a key distributor of Toshiba Computer Systems Division, has signed an agreement with Kuwait Ministry of Finance to deliver notebooks targeting everyday computing users, business and multimedia users.

With this deal, all government ministries, departments, public institutions and organizations will have access to the latest Qosmio and Tecra laptop range of Toshiba, the company said in a statement.

The ABM offer also includes on-site service and a three-year warranty, it added.

“This is a prestigious deal for Toshiba since it increases our market share and market value within the region. It cements our presence in Kuwaiti market and we intend to strengthen this position through providing quality services and reliable notebooks,” said Santosh Varghese, regional general manager, Computer Systems Division, Toshiba Gulf.

Toshiba Tecra series, said Varghese, is best suited for everyday computing needs, and also dedicated to meet the requirements of mobile business users.

'It features dedicated docking station which connects the laptop straight away to peripherals like mouse or printer thus increases users’ productivity. It’s also durable and secure with its solid-state drive designated to withstand extreme outdoor temperatures, shocks and vibrations and its fingerprint reader enables easy authentication for all system passwords,' he explained.

Toshiba Qosmio series features a large 18.4” screen size, a Blu-Ray drive and Toshiba’s video upscaling application Resolution+ which allows for quality and superior multimedia performance. The multimedia laptop also comes with a fingerprint reader and offers wide connectivity options with its 5-in1 Bridge Media port and FireWire.

ABM general manager and partner, Kamal Aboul-Hosn said: 'It gives us great pride and pleasure to offer world renowned Toshiba notebooks accompanied with our reputable after-sales service to the respective government ministries and the public sector.'

'Toshiba notebooks are known for their design and award winning quality, thus offering outstanding performance and the latest technologies to meet customers’ mobile computing needs,' it noted.
