3i Infotech installs IT security for Oman Air

Muscat, August 22, 2010

3i Infotech, a global technology solutions and services provider, has implemented Symantec’s Security Information Manager (SSIM) for Oman Air, the national carrier of Oman.

3i Infotech has used its own practice to architect, implement, and maintain SSIM, enabling Oman Air to create a documented, repeatable process for security threat response through data mining techniques, integrated log management and incident response system.

This will allow Oman Air to better detect an act upon various online threats such as malicious BOTS, WORMS and IP addresses all with a substantially lower total costs of ownership, maintenance and overall usability.

“Effective solutions to ensure security in today’s IT-centric corporate world are of utmost importance,” said Gerry Mitchell, Oman Air’s chief officer of IT.

“Symantec Security Information Manager has enabled Oman Air IT to consolidate all security and logging data from its critical enterprise nodes to a central repository.  It has helped in the automated collection of security data, analysis and delivery of compliance evidence and improved detection of multi layered attacks,” he added.

Pankaj Chawla, CEO and president, 3i Infotech, Middle East, Africa, Russia & CIS, said: “We are extremely happy to have implemented the Symantec’s Security Information Manager along with our partner Atesco for Oman Air in Oman.”

“We understand the business needs and the complexity in designing the solution to handle security events and incidents for a fast growing company like Oman Air and are proud to have implemented a solution in a manner that meets their current requirements and is fully scalable to match their future growth,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
