Qtel launches BlackBerry Storm

Doha, May 19, 2010

Qatar Telecom (Qtel) has launched the innovative and award-winning touch-screen smartphone BlackBerry Storm2 at all its retail shops across the country.

The BlackBerry Storm2 significantly improves the BlackBerry touch-screen platform with new technology and new features to let customers stay easily connected to the people, places and things that matter most, the Qtel said in a statement.

Qtel’s support for this advanced smartphone is built upon its position as the leading provider of BlackBerry and mobile services in Qatar, which has seen the company offer a range of innovative packages that enable people to match their BlackBerry service to their daily lives, it added.

Among the key features of the model is new SurePress Technology, which responds equally to gentle pressure applied anywhere on the surface of the screen, making clicking the display almost effortless.

The new SurePress technology also allows the user to type a letter with one thumb even while their other thumb may still be touching or resting on another letter, enabling faster typing and multi-key actions.

The phone also provides a large, dazzling, high resolution display; a  3.2 MP camera with variable zoom, autofocus, flash and video recording; 256 MB of Flash memory; and 2 GB of onboard memory storage.

Qtel offers both Hala BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) and Shahry BlackBerry Internet Service, providing the widest possible range of choice and value for customers. It also offers a BlackBerry Enterprise Service, with a host of support services for businesses.

Qtel brought the BlackBerry Service to Qatar in 2008, and has continued to provide the latest models and service agreements for customers, the statement added.-TradeArabia News Service
