SonicWall showcases new firewall
Abu Dhabi, May 18, 2010
SonicWall, a leading secure network infrastructure company, will showcase the industry’s first next-generation security platform and technology at an ongoing telecom event in Abu Dhabi.
The three-day Middle East Communications (Mecom) Exhibition 2010 opened yesterday (May 17) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
SonicWall’s SuperMassive technology comprises key next-generation elements of SonicWall such as the network security platform architecture, firewall technology and the reassembly-free deep packet inspection (RF-DPI) engine.
It features a large scale multi-core, Cavium Networks’ Octeon-based architecture, running on SonicWall’s multi-blade chassis.
Project SuperMassive is capable of detecting and controlling applications, preventing intrusions, and blocking malware at up to 40 Gbps without introducing latency to the network, a statement said.
“Mecom serves as an ideal event to showcase Project SuperMassive and our suite of virtualization products,” said Florian Malecki, enterprise products marketing manager – EMEA, SonicWall.
“The technology revolutionizes application visualization and control. Our new suite of products support the positive growth expected this year. For 2009, SonicWall recorded a 35 per cent growth.”
SonicWall’s RF-DPI engine provides organisations with increased insight into inbound and outbound network content without compromising security or performance, the statement said.
In addition, the RF-DPI technology leverages SonicWall’s Grid Network reputation databases providing extra-firewall intelligence, the statement added.
“Abu Dhabi is a viable market for our products. Our partner expansion in the Emirate will be conducted through trainings, certifications, pre-sales support and industry-specific marketing events,” said Shahnawaz Sheikh, regional sales manager - Middle East and Africa, SonicWall. – TradeArabia News Service
