Alcatel-Lucent, BTC plan Saudi roadshow
Riyadh, May 16, 2010
Alcatel-Lucent, along with its newly appointed partner BTC Networks (Baud Telecom Company) is all set to kick off its 'dynamic customer engagement' roadshow in Saudi Arabia.
A leading telecommunications provider and systems integrator in the Middle East, BTC said the road show aims to jointly address the communications needs of the fast-growing Saudi enterprise market and also provide its customers and prospects with the latest updates on Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise solutions and services.
The roadshow will cover three major cities - debuting in Jeddah on May 17 at Le Meridien Jeddah followed by Riyadh on May 18 at Sheraton Riyadh Hotel & Towers, and Al Khobar on May 19 at the Sofitel Luxury Hotel, said a company statement.
Clients from different business and market segments are expected to attend in each city, it added.
The joint roadshow will be centered on the Alcatel-Lucent's 'Dynamic Customer Engagement' theme.
In today's challenging economy, transforming the experience of customers and driving innovation by engaging the enterprise's workforce are critical to business success in the Middle East, the company said.
'Dynamic Customer Engagement' leverages the entire enterprise, optimizes customer service processes, and provides visibility into business performance. The key is to implement communications solutions that connect the available knowledge in the organization.
The Keynote Speaker will be Tom Eggemeier, VP sales and support for Alcatel-Lucent's Enterprise business in the Europe and MEA region.
He will introduce to the Saudi marketplace Alcatel-Lucent's new Smart DeskPhone - the Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch 8082 My IC Phone - which combines the experience of a smart phone with the reliability of a desk phone while leveraging the power of an open applications platform.
The new phone brings together multimedia communications capabilities and web applications to create personalized mashups or industry-tailored applications.
It has a large touch screen which leverages new and existing applications and capabilities, such as instant messaging, presence, contextual applications, integrated e-mail, and MP3 music which can be brought together on the desktop.
It will serve as an application pod featuring an open API developer platform similar to the approach taken in the applications explosion in the mobile space, and will be integrated with the next generation Unified Communication services from Alcatel-Lucent.
“The alliance between BTC Networks and Alcatel-Lucent responds to the rising demand of Businesses in the Kingdom for innovative and advanced communications services,' said Alawi Baroum, executive director of BTC Networks.
'The roadshow will demonstrate how Alcatel-Lucent’s broad portfolio of enterprise solutions combined with BTC Networks’ experience and capabilities in network integration, implementation and maintenance is creating an unrivalled offering in Saudi Arabia,' he remarked.
“The enhanced user experience and productivity gains made possible by Alcatel-Lucent’s new OmniTouch 8082 My IC Phone along with our innovative Dynamic Customer Engagement strategy will provide a strong foundation for the fast growing Saudi enterprise market” said Alain Penel, vice-president sales and support for Alcatel-Lucent enterprise activities in Middle East and Africa.
“Alcatel-Lucent’s vision and BTCs well-known integration capabilities will enable Saudi enterprises to focus ever more on transforming their customer experience and driving innovation by engaging their workforces,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
