Batelco backs major Cisco event
Manama, March 21, 2010
Batelco, Bahrain’s leading integrated communications provider, will participate in Cisco Networkers Bahrain 2010 as a diamond sponsor and telecom provider.
This is the first time that the industry-accredited networking forum will be held in the Middle East and will take place at the Bahrain International Circuit, Sakhir, from March 28 to 31.
Bringing like-minded IT, networking and communications professionals together, the event comprises five conferences, running parallel, under the theme ‘Knowledge is Power’.
Batelco is inviting a number of its business customers to join them at the BIC’s Paddock 4 in Cisco’s interactive learning World of Solutions Exhibition, which runs from March 29 to 31.
Demonstrations of Batelco products and services will include Unified Communication, Video Telephony, Video Conferencing and Unified Messaging. Visitors will have an exclusive opportunity to “ask the expert” on any networking challenges they may have, and experience Cisco’s solution technology for themselves during “hands on” sessions and real-time demonstrations.
Batelco chief executive Bahrain, Gert Rieder said Batelco is pleased to support Cisco through its sponsorship and also as a key participant in the Cisco Networkers forum and exhibition.
Duncan Mitchell, senior vice president, Cisco Emerging Markets East, said: “Bahrain’s progressive telecommunications regulatory environment is encouraging the nation, and its citizens, to harness the power of the network and to drive increased productivity levels, while also supporting accelerated GDP growth rates and ever higher standards of living. This strategy will strengthen Bahrain’s global competitiveness and help maximize the development of its national talent.”
“Cisco has experienced Bahrain as an excellent place to conduct business, locating its own ICT hub for the GCC in Manama. We’re proud to be associated with Bahrain and honoured that the Government would agree to be our host for the first-ever Cisco Networkers in the Middle East, a pioneering event for ICT leaders, in an innovative country,” Mitchell said – TradeArabia News Service
