Deutsche Telekom expands mobile portfolio

Bonn, February 13, 2010

International Carrier Sales & Solutions (ICSS), the international wholesale arm of Deutsche Telekom Group, is offering flexible one-stop shopping covering high-quality mobile hubbing and best-in-class roaming and messaging solutions.

The solutions range from signaling for international roaming and SMX to MMX and WiFi Roaming as a part of its mobile portfolio.

In its role as a first mover due to its own IPX platform, ICSS is currently involved in negotiations for future interconnections and has already signed a number of contracts.

ICSS also consults GRX providers, potential IPX providers, and operators of technical peering points for the definition of measuring methods in order to guarantee E2E quality and QoS/network quality via two hubs.

ICSS will also launch additional services within the scope of IPX. It is currently testing a new service called Sigtran, for example, which is an alternative access solution based on several IP backbones for signalling customers to DTAG STPs.

ICSS plans to integrate Sigtran into the ICSS Mobile World package in the course of this year.

Customers will then be able to use the next-generation Sigtran protocol when interconnecting with ICSS with the benefit of a cheaper transport solution and the possibility of bundling with other IP-based mobile solutions.

Furthermore, ICSS is also introducing its CLI Verification System as a benefit for its Mobile Hubbing customers.

Today, ICSS’s mobile hubbing service provides its customers with a feature-rich, quality-driven termination of voice calls into mobile and fixed networks on a global basis.

With the new CLI Verification System, ICSS will start monitoring the CLI transmission on an end-to-end basis. This possibility of monitoring is an important feature, as well as a competitive edge, and is part and parcel of the mobile hubbing service.

The CLI Verification is intended to provide a quality view during the call setup by performing test calls to network probes in the destination networks (e.g. voice and video quality, SMS delivery), said a statement.

The PDD will be reported in addition to CLI verification. ICSS’s CLI Verification System tests the provided mobile hubbing quality for its customers.

The CLI Verification enables ICSS to maintain a stable, high service performance due to the testing of even new routing opportunities before using them, thus avoiding precharging and ensuring CLI transmission, according to the statement. – TradeArabia News Service
