Omantel awards $26m telco deal to Huawei

Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) has awarded China's biggest network equipment maker Huawei a RO10 million ($26 million) contract, a tender board official said on Thursday.
'Huawei won the Next Generation Network (NGN) contract to extend the Omantel coverage,' the official told Reuters.
Huawei beat bids from US equipment maker Cisco Systems and Alcatel-Lucent, as well as the world's largest mobile phone maker Nokia, he said.-Reuters
