Manama, September 29, 2009

Bahrain Business Machines (BBM), a division of leading IT solutions and service provider Gulf Business Machines (GBM), has been selected to support an agreement between Cisco Systems and the eGovernment Authority of Bahrain.

Under this agreement, BBM will partner with Cisco to fulfill the infrastructure requirements for the communications and IT sections of Bahrain’s Government.

In addition to consultation, BBM’s Integrated Network and Site Services (INSS) division will offer a range of communications, security and networking solutions and a dedicated, Bahrain-based team to provide technical support for implemented projects.

“This groundbreaking agreement will give government departments access to best-in-class ICT solutions at competitive prices,” said Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, chief, Kingdom of Bahrain eGovernment Authority.

“This agreement, with Cisco Systems and its local partners will allow us to proceed with our plans for infrastructure expansion while benefiting from cost and time efficiencies.”

“GBM fully supports the Bahrain eGovernment Authority’s vision for effective delivery of government services in an innovative manner and its ambitions to be a leader in e-governance,” added Abdulla Ishaq, country general manager for BBM.-TradeArabia News Service
