Peugeot to use 3Com networking solution

Dubai, September 22, 2009

French automaker Peugeot Citroen will use H3C enterprise networking solutions from 3Com Corporation, a high-performance networking and security solutions provider, as a significant part of its LAN infrastructure.

Peugeot Citroen expects the H3C solution to help reduce network installation and usage costs while improving network performance for new applications.

“With our H3C enterprise networking solutions, 3Com provides high-performance products that offer a rapid return on investment through great price/performance, strong manageability and low energy usage,” said Bernard Etchebarne, 3Com General Manager, EMEA South.

“3Com’s H3C switches are also the most energy-efficient on the market, using up to 60 percent less power than competitive networking solutions,” he added.

“This supports Peugeot Citroën’s ‘green’ objectives. Regarding emissions of carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas, Peugeot Citroën is the most efficient carmaker in Europe, with nearly one million vehicles emitting less than 130 g/km of CO2 in 2008. Today, roughly one in three vehicles sold by the Group emits less than 130 g/km of CO2,” Etchebarne concluded.

In May 2009, 3Com announced the availability of its portfolio of high-performance H3C networking solutions worldwide through selected channel partners. – TradeArabia News Service
