Telecom leaders discuss new technologies

Key issues facing the telecom industry and latest technological innovations were discussed at a telecom summit held recently in Fujairah.

The Next Generation Telecommunications Summit MENA provided a template on how to embrace the technologies and breakthroughs in telecommunications, and utilise them to make businesses and lives better, a statement said.

The gathering of CTOs and network heads from the Middle East telecommunication world said the region can be held up as an example for the rest of the world in this sector.

Communication experts from Ericsson Packet Networks, Acme Packet, Intel, Nokia Siemens, Netcracker and Huwawei took part in the event.

Contentious issues were brought to the table by technology executives such as Ali Al Ahmed, group chief strategy officer at Etisalat, and Mohammed Rafi, group CIO at Zain.
