Omnix CAE division nets $40m revenue

Dubai, May 25, 2009

Omnix International, a leading technology service provider and integrator in Middle East and regional distributor of Autodesk products, said its computer aided engineering (CAE) division has raked in Dh146 million ($40 million) in revenues for 2008.

“The excellent revenues we have achieved in 2008 is a testament to our continued commitment to the regional market, where we have also marked new territories and launched a number of new and exciting technologies for the benefit of our Middle East-based clientele,” said Dr. Jayant M. Deshpande, director, CAD Division, Omnix.

“We are very proud to be an instrumental contributor to the creation of more resource-efficient buildings and infrastructure by effectively bringing technology-driven solutions closer to the architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) market, and we are looking forward to another successful collaboration with regional customers and partners this year,” he stated.

He cited the successful regional distribution of Autodesk's computer aided designing and drafting (CADD) and building information modeling (BIM) solutions as primary driver of the escalated revenues figures.

In line with its growth plans for the year ahead, Omnix will focus on implementation and promotion of Autodesk solutions in the field of CADD and BIM to new markets, he added.

Omnix has outlined a strategic plan to educate regional organisations on how investing in these unique solutions can boost their performance and results, he explained.

Furthermore, the company is also reinforcing its efforts towards streamlining its partner training and channel strategy, which underlines the importance of a robust distribution network in its success in the region.

Autodesk's CADD technologies help customers understand and improve the performance and operation of their designs before they are built by aiding in speeding up documentation, seamless sharing of ideas, and intuitive exploration of ideas in 3D.

BIM solutions improves project collaboration and integration between the building design, civil engineering and construction disciplines, thereby helping in making sound decisions earlier in the process.

Omnix is a pioneer in distribution, implementation, and servicing of Autodesk products in the Middle East, employing Autodesk-certified instructors with over 10,000 hours of combined teaching experience.

The company boasts of robust training facilities and staff strength that include highly skilled specialists in the fields of architecture, engineering, Geographical Information Systems, and land development.

In addition, Omnix offers state of the art labs and classes, and provides hands on project and practical examples during training.

'We understand that today’s economic climate is driving the need for firms to integrate flexible technology tools for building information modeling, which can help them deliver projects more quickly and cost-effectively,' Manish Bhardwaj, field marketing specialist, Autodesk Middle East.

'Our partnership with Omnix has made a tremendous impact in the adoption of our CADD and BIM solutions across the region, which is being driven by their extensive channel network and strong reputation as a technology partner among many AEC players in the Middle East.'

'We are continuously taking steps not only to further enhance the functionalities of our solutions, but also in making it more accessible to customers via our partnership with capable distributors such as Omnix,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
