DSO to take part in Cebit 2009
Dubai, March 1, 2009
Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) will take part in CeBIT 2009, the world's largest trade fair for IT and telecommunications, which will take place at Hanover in Germany from March 3 to 8.
CeBIT 2009 brings together an elite audience of exhibitors and high-tech professionals as well as more than 500,000 visitors from over 80 countries, where the event attracted last year over 5,800 exhibitors from around the world who left Hannover and CeBIT fair with bulging order books.
“Our participation at CeBIT aims to highlight Dubai Silicon Oasis as a free zone entity and a fully integrated city that offers cutting-edge services, unique benefits, modern and updated IT infrastructure, all of which create an ideal business location for potential business partners,” said Dr Jihad Kiwan, chief technology officer at DSOA.
“The event in Hanover gains added significance against the current economic scenario where companies worldwide are seeking innovative solutions to drive the future growth of the industry,” he added.
A wholly-owned entity of the government of Dubai, DSO operates as a free zone technology park for semiconductors, microelectronics and other electronics-based companies looking to set up their regional headquarters and R&D divisions in Dubai.
To date, DSO has successfully registered a 62 per cent annual growth in the number of companies operating from within its premises if compared to 2007, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
