AMD names Mena managing director

Dubai, February 2, 2009

AMD has appointed Gaith Kadir as managing director for the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region.

Based in Dubai, Gaith will be leading sales and marketing efforts in the region, reporting to Alberto Bozzo, AMD’s corporate vice president and general manager Europe, Middle East and Africa (Emea).

“I am confident that Gaith’s sharp focus and regional expertise make him the right person to leverage AMD’s strong product line-up and drive business forward in this strategic market,” said Alberto Bozzo.

Gaith has more than twenty years of experience in the IT industry. He started his career with Compaq Computer Corporation in Houston, Texas, later managing the Latin America region for the company.

In 2003, Gaith joined AMD and moved to China, where he developed and managed the Asia Pacific region prior to relocating to Dubai in 2005.

In addition to a Bachelor of Science degree in bioengineering  from Texas Southern University and a Master of Science in electronics engineering technology from Pittsburg State University, Gaith holds a Doctorate of Science in engineering management from University of Southern California and has studied executive leadership and management at Rice University.-TradeArabia News Service
