Dubai, December 6, 2008

Emirates Computers won EMC’s ‘Best Security Project’ Award at the EMC Europe South annual awards function that was held in Marrakech, Morocco recently.

The company was chosen for this accolade for its CCTV storage project for Dubai Airports Company (DAC) which involved implementation of EMC Clariion CX3 networked storage systems. The value of the project was approximately Dh22 million ($6 million), making it the largest project of its type across the Emea region.

“We are confident that the successful implementation of a project of this magnitude and scale will open doors to many more business opportunities for Emirates Computers and EMC in the region,” stated Haytham Kamel, Emirates Computers’ VP and General Manager, Dubai & Northern Emirates.

The objective of the CCTV storage project for Dubai Airports Company (DAC) was to deliver continuous actionable intelligence to the company’s staff to address any security issue by assisting in facility security, operational support, monitoring sensitive areas and retrieving potentially critical footage.

“We are pleased to recognise Emirates Computers for the Best Security Project Award in EMEA and are happy to see the company strive to deliver increased value to UAE customers with their expertise and using EMC technologies,” added Mohammed Amin, regional manager, EMC Middle East & North West Africa.-TradeArabia News Service
