Zain's One Network a boon for pilgrims

Manama, September 23, 2008

Zain Bahrain said its revolutionary One Network service has succeeded as a borderless mobile service for people unertaking Umrah and Haj pilgrimages this Ramadan and Eid.

Zain said the service has enabled cross-border communications at favourable rates free of high roaming charges including: receiving all calls for free, and making calls at local call rates while using Zain Bahrain mobile service in Saudi Arabia.

'One Network's recent expansion to include the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a major benefit for all Zain Bahrain customers,' said the company's international roaming manager, Ayman Al Alawi.

'Besides promoting the service with our existing customers, we have been also receiving many inquiries from companies and professional travel agents who specialise in organising Umrah and Haj pilgrimages, as it will be of invaluable use to their crew and to the travel agents' customers.'

All travellers to Saudi Arabia with a Zain mobile service (Zain eeZee pre-paid or Hewar and BLife post-paid) will enjoy the One Network service while on Zain Saudi Arabia network, and benefit from being treated as a 'local' customer wherever they are.

Customers can make calls and send messages at local rates when communicating with a travelling Zain customer who will receive incoming calls free-of-charge and be able to make calls back home at local rates.

Zain eeZee pre-paid customers can also top up their phones with recharge cards bought from Saudi Arabia from any outlet selling Zain Saudi Arabia recharge cards. Further, customers will also be able to access Zain Bahrain Customer Care and voicemail using the familiar home short codes 107 and 117 for free, as they do back home.

The One Network service is automatically activated upon crossing the geographic border, with no prior registration required or sign-up fee.

One Network service is available in 12 countries - Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Sudan, Chad, Kenya, Malawi, Niger, Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda, with more countries to be added to this true borderless mobile service. - TradeArabia News Service
