SkyVision renews contracts for transponders

The Hague, September 20, 2008

SES New Skies, an SES company said that SkyVision, a leading global provider of Internet services over satellite and terrestrial fibre optic systems, has renewed contracts for four transponders and contracted additional capacity on the NSS-10 satellite.

Terms of the multi-year agreement remain confidential.

SkyVision, from its key gateways in Europe, the United States and the Middle East, provides end-to-end solutions comprising standard or custom-tailored IP connectivity services for Internet Service Providers and telecommunications solutions to enterprises and NGOs. The company first contracted SES capacity in 2005.

Mark Gazit, president and CEO of SkyVision, said: 'During the last three years, the NSS-10 satellite has provided vital inter-continental capabilities with exceptional reliability to our global network, a period during which we experienced phenomenal growth.

'We are extremely pleased to renew this valuable capacity on a multi-year basis and to continue in our provision of SkyVision's hub-based solutions to our customers. We also consider that the combination of the powerful NSS-10 satellite with SkyVision's VPN solutions has been a key success factor in that particular product as well a all of our other African hub-based solutions.

'We look forward to continuing our mutually beneficial relationship with SES New Skies and the SES Group.'

Nigel Gibson, regional vice president - Europe and Middle East at SES New Skies, said: 'Without satellite connectivity, vast stretches of Africa would be without Internet access, which is increasingly important for sustained economic development.

'SkyVision is a longstanding, valued customer on our NSS-10 spacecraft, and other SES satellite capacity, and we are honoured to continue to provide vital return connectivity to Africa for this thriving operator.' - TradeArabia News Service
