Xerox unveils 2 new print drivers
Dubai, July 21, 2008
Xerox Corporation has launched a free and downloadable print driver called the Mobile Express Driver that lets mobile office workers print to any available printer or multifunction printer on a network.
To use the Mobile Express Driver, users simply plug into a network, pull up the intuitive pop-up print screen that automatically identifies all the available printers on the network, pick a printer, and click ‘print.’ The driver eliminates the need to bother colleagues to print documents or ask IT managers for help connecting to a printer.
“The Mobile Express Driver removes a real road block for the office nomad who travels across the hall, down the road, or throughout the country for meetings,” said Chris Govier, general manager - Production Systems Group Xerox Middle East and Africa.
The user-friendly driver allows IT administrators to spend less time helping workers connect to printing devices, allowing them to focus on higher priority tasks, according to the company.
In addition to the Mobile Express Driver, Xerox also launched the new Global Print Driver for Windows XP and Vista.
The Global Print Driver helps enterprise IT departments cut costs by reducing the time spent managing print drivers for various devices, said a statement.
The Mobile Express Driver and the Global Print Driver are available immediately for download in English. The drivers will be available in additional languages in August.- TradeArabia News Service
