Dubai, December 24, 2007
Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) has received the ISO 9001:2000 for Quality Management Systems (QMS), an internationally recognised standard for quality in products and services.
The certification recognises DSOA's commitment towards promoting, providing and investing in facilities for technology based industries, including technology education, said an official spokesman.
“This is an outstanding achievement, led by DSOA’s management team and executed by every employee in the authority. Certification validates our commitment to providing our customers with products and a level of service that leads the industry in quality and technology,” said Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, DSOA chairman, receiving the certification.
“Following the implementation of Oracles’ Enterprise Resources Planning system (ERP) and other quality initiatives, we were keen to adopt additional quality standards in order to provide world class services. The ISO certification ranks us among the leading global high tech parks and will facilitate enhanced industry partnerships for businesses based at Dubai Silicon Oasis, which will be addressed to all areas of our operations,” said vice-chairman and CEO of DSOA Dr. Mohammed Al Zarouni.
Recognised by more than 150 countries, the ISO 9001:2000 is considered the highest standard for quality assurance, and focuses on customer satisfaction, management responsibility, and continual improvement. The ISO 9001:2000 is considered a prestigious global certification in the field of quality management.
DSOA is a wholly-owned entity of the government of Dubai and operates as a free zone technology park for semiconductor, microelectronic and other high technology-based companies looking to set up their regional headquarters and R&D facilities in the Middle East and Africa region. – TradeArabia News Service
