FVC, VegaStream sign deal

Dubai, December 5, 2007

FVC, a leading value-added distributor (VAD) in the Middle East and North Africa, has signed a distribution agreement with IP Gateway vendor VegaStream.

VegaStream's VoIP gateways enable service providers and business customers to rapidly deploy and profit from lower telephony costs and improved productivity across their organisations' HQs and remote offices.

Under the terms of the agreement, FVC will leverage its existing channel network to distribute VegaStream’s complete range of VoIP Gateway solutions in Middle East and North Africa.

As one of the earliest suppliers of VoIP gateways supporting SIP, VegaStream's portfolio of gateways are recognised as best-in-class for products such as Nortel Networks MCS5100, MCS5200 and Siemens OpenScape.

The company’s award winning Vega gateways are based on international communications standards, including SIP and H.323 to deliver an open and non-proprietary VoIP solution that can be seamlessly integrated alongside existing communications investments.

“With the changes and the growing adoption of VoIP in the enterprise, we felt the need to expand our portfolio of solutions especially in the VoIP segment,” said K S Parag, regional director for FVC.

“In our mission to work with the best in each field, we are very pleased to add the VegaStream range of VoIP gateway solutions to give our partners with the choice of providing end to end solutions.”

VegaStream partners with other VoIP technology leaders in areas such as voice recognition and IP mobility to enable connectivity between their products and traditional PSTN networks.

The company's products are deployed by global service provider networks and demanding end-users such as the US Navy.

VegaStream products are sold through a network of systems integrators and service providers where they are becoming commonplace within mainstream enterprise networks to reduce the cost of everyday business communications.

“We are very excited to be working with FVC as our Master Distribution Partner for the Middle East and North African Market,” said Ed Kruczek, regional director, EMEA, for VegaStream.

“FVC’s highly rated value added services and extensive market knowledge coupled with VegaStream’s easy to use, and easy to provision VoIP products are the perfect fit for what we see is a growing market for VoIP services across the region.”
