Doha, November 20, 2007
Satyam Computer Services Ltd has signed an IT solutions contract with Salam International Investment Limited.
The deal involves an Oracle implementation project spanning Oracle Financials to Business Intelligence and Balance Scorecard.
Salam International is a multi-diversified group of companies, while Satyam is a leading global consulting and information technology services company.
The implementation shall provide the top management of Salam International with a complete overview of the operations on dashboards and close financial books of accounts with ease, said an official spokesman.
Under the terms of the contract, the project shall be implemented in 18 months and cover all of Salam International’s subsidiaries in Qatar.
The solution will address the business challenges of disparate systems with distributed data and will deliver immense value to SIIL on completion. Online integration of finance with business systems, and the need for standardisation of business processes were the other major business challenges which SIIL is facing and the solution will address these by providing a single integrated platform to all users to ensure that the strategic objective are monitored and met, year on year.
“Satyam was chosen as our partner for the Oracle Implementation project for excelling in competence and past experience in this field globally and especially in the Middle East. The introduction of advanced technology into Salam International’s operations is a key part of the company’s corporate strategy,” said vice-chairman & COO, Salam International, Hussam Abdul Salam Abu Issa.
The implementation is one of a series of projects that compose the change management programme at SIIL, where renowned international consultants have been selected for different projects.
Satyam’s vast and varied experience in implementing in large diversified group of companies made it the perfect choice for the needs of Salam International. Additionally, Satyam’s implementation success due to strong project management skills and large number of certified consultants helped clinch the deal in Satyam’s favour.
Currently Satyam is engaged in more than seven large projects in Qatar, and as a part of its commitment to the region Satyam had set up a direct office in Qatar to cater to local customers and provide them with world-class solutions.
“Satyam is pleased to be selected by Salam International for this strategic initiative. The solution will help the senior management at Salam have a single view of the data with usage of innovative dashboards thereby improving their decision-making process. We look forward to working with them as partners in this initiative and are committed to delivering value to their group and to Qatar as a region,” said director and senior vice-president, Satyam, Asia Pacific Middle-East, India and Africa Operations, Virender Aggarwal. – TradeArabia News Service
