Verbatim unveils storage range in Mideast

In a bid to tap the booming Middle East optical storage market, Verbatim, the storage media specialist, has unveiled its complete range of optical media from CD-R and DVD to the latest high definition technology in Blu-Ray and HD DVD.

The company hopes to meet the increasing consumer demand for high definition CDs and DVDs.

The complete range of products include DVD-R/RW/ R DL/ RAM/ DVD+R/RW/ R DL , DVD R speed is up to 16x for quick reading of data, Printable discs and Lightscribe as well as the fastest CD-RW with a recording speed of 32X. Verbatim were the first to provide a full range for 8cm DVD including the 8cm DVD DL.

'Verbatim has experienced world-wide success having attained a leadership position in the world's market for the recordable CD-R and DVD-R. Since 1969, the Company has played major part in the development of data storage technology - from floppy disks and magneto-optical storage media to the latest Blu-Ray, HD DVD, CD and DVD formats,' said Verbatim sales manager, Middle East, Ziad Arab.

Tests to estimate the expected storage life were conducted on both CD-R and DVD-R, using climate chambers. These test results showed a durability of approximately 100 years, applicable to discs stored under certain conditions.
