Madar implements Raqmiyat solutions

Dubai, October 14, 2007

Raqmiyat, a leading UAE-based Systems Integrator, has completed the implementation of a turnkey solution at Madar Holding.

Madar is the international arm of the building materials business of Saudi-based Al Fozan Group.

The Dh1.5 million ($0.408 million) project provides an advanced IT infrastructure comprised of a centralised data centre for hosting the company’s ERP solution in addition to communication and security applications, which have become critical in ensuring high quality standards and services in today’s business environment.

Leveraging its design and service expertise, Raqmiyat offered Madar Holding a cost-effective end-to-end solution which included HP SAN Storage, Cisco VPN and Firewall solution and HP Blade Server technology in order to power critical business applications such as directory services, mail servers, application delivery servers, Oracle clustered Database servers and Virus protection. Raqmiyat’s team of experts handled the installation of all hardware devices, operating systems and database setups, said a Raqmiyat official.

“The scope of the infrastructure improvement required diverse domain expertise, and our company was able to complete the implementation despite a tight deadline. Covering design, testing, training and documentation, we delivered a turnkey solution to Madar Holding within the scheduled 25 days. As a single systems integrator, we also supplied all the software and hardware solutions, eliminating the need for our client to deal with multiple vendors as in the past,” said COO of Raqmiyat Tapas Roy.

Madar Holding has invested more than Dh500 million into the UAE construction industry alone, and the revamping of the company’s IT infrastructure is aimed at keeping pace with high quality standards and constantly meeting business demands.

The new solutions will also enable Madar Holding to seamlessly connect to its current regional offices in Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, Syria, Oman and Sudan, and its future regional offices in the MENA region, in addition to ensuring complete redundancy of its servers and infrastructure.
“In order to meet the demand for innovative customer service, we at Madar Holding are constantly examining our systems and processes and innovating accordingly, which enables us to provide our customers the quality they seek, at the time they need it,” said Corporate IT Manager at Madar Holding Selim Edde.

“Our clients depend on Madar as a supplier with international and regional expertise for over 40 years, and it is essential that we deliver with quality and time. With this new infrastructure, we are confident that we can maintain our quality standards and ensure total customer satisfaction across the region,” he added.

Following the project’s completion, Raqmiyat will ensure the continuity of the infrastructure and offer IT support. A dedicated account manager will handle support issues escalation, new sales and maintaining customer satisfaction and a solution architect will provide innovative technological solutions.

Raqmiyat will also offer Madar Holding a 24x7 Hotline Support through a strong support team comprised of technical experts in multiple technology streams.
