Gitex voice portal service launched
Dubai, September 6, 2007
Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has launched Gitex Technology Week Voice Portal service powered by Emerging Technologies.
By dialing 600-5-Gitex and speaking their request in their natural voices, visitors and participants can get easy access to show timings, stand locations, conference schedules, ticket pricing, travel and accommodation and on-site transportation.
'Our partnership with Emerging Technologies comes in line with our vision of bringing convenient, yet advanced services to our guests at Gitex Technology Week 2007,' said DWTC director-general Helal Saeed Al Marri. 'The Voice Portal, designed specifically for the event, will help visitors plan more effectively for a productive visit.'
Customised locally for the Gitex Technology Week, the Abu Dhabi based Emerging Technologies built the voice portal using the latest release of Nuance Speech Recognition. The system supports multi accents and dialects and has undergone stringent testing to ensure accurate results.
'Furthering our commitment to deploying innovative speech solutions in the Middle East, we are pleased to partner with DWTC, the organizers of the leading technology show in the region,' said Emerging Technologies CEO Sassine Mazraani.
'The Gitex Technology Week voice portal is a revolutionary application built to provide accurate information quickly and easily from anywhere. Sophisticated disambiguation techniques interpret the caller’s request in as few steps as possible while advanced search and data methodologies tackle massive data sources to deliver the right information for the right request,' said Mazraani. – TradeArabia News Service
