CA named leader in client management suites

CA has been named a "leader" in the client management suites market by Forrester Research in the "Forrester Wave: Client Management Suites, Q3 2007" report.

Of the eight companies invited to participate in the study — which evaluated client management solutions across 98 criteria grouped by strategy, current offering, and market presence — CA had the highest score across multiple criteria such as architecture, administration and management, and key technology partners, the company said in a statement.

“The CA Client Management solution unifies and automates the processes needed to rapidly implement changes to IT services, such as automating compliance and minimising risk, while maintaining service levels. Forrester’s assessment underscores CA success of delivering on its vision to unify the entire change lifecycle from inception, to the delivery of a fix, to the ongoing management of client and server configurations. Moreover our customers can ensure end-to-end management of every IT infrastructure change,” said regional director of technical sales for CA’s EMEA Eastern Markets Maria Medvedeva.

The Forrester report stated that CA’s Desktop Management Suite offers practical features in the areas of software, OSes, and systems management and “has broad desktop OS support, the most flexible software distribution capabilities, and includes power and license management functionality.”

“In addition,” according to Forrester, “the product hooks directly into other IT management solutions from CA, enabling IT to have visibility into enterprise-wide system status. Best of all, this solution comes at a price point that enterprises can afford.”

Forrester’s report also recognised the administration and management features of CA’s client management technologies and said they “include rich identity-based policy capabilities, which lower the costs associated with managing the client environment by decreasing the amount of time administrators spend keeping systems up and running. In addition, the product architecture is solid, scaling to any size organisation without significant performance impact.”
