Cognos wins top award
Dubai , July 19, 2007
Cognos, a world leader in business intelligence and performance management solutions, has won the 'International Stevie Award for Best Product Development Team'.
The award honours great performance in business, said a statement.
The Cognos product development team is being recognised for its R&D initiatives in the past year, particularly for the innovative development of the Cognos 8 Go! consumer modes, it said.
Extensions to the Cognos 8 Business Intelligence platform, the consumer modes, including Cognos 8 Go! Mobile, Cognos 8 Go! Search and Cognos 8 Go! Office, help improve decision-making and increase business intelligence user adoption rates within an organisation by letting users view and consume reports, analyses, and other BI content using familiar applications or devices, such as the BlackBerry wireless platform from Research in Motion, search engines, MS Office applications, or Web browsers.
'We have always fostered a culture of innovation here at Cognos,' said regional general manager, Cognos, Derek Morrison.
'The Cognos product development team has seen continued success this past year in delivering first-to-market solutions purpose-built for industry-leading partners such as Google, RIM and IBM. This award is a validation of the innovative spirit and drive required to fuel these efforts,' he added.
Recipients of International Stevie Award trophies were selected from more than 1,000 nominations received from companies and individuals in more than 30 countries, said a Cognos official.
Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges and Advisors and their staffs selected International Stevie winners from among the Finalists, which were determined by volunteer judges around the world during two months of preliminary judging.
'Entries to the IBAs grew 40 per cent this year and that illustrates the increasing importance of The International Business Awards worldwide,' said president of The Stevie Awards, which presents the IBAs, Michael Gallagher.TradeArabia News Service
