Fujitsu Siemens unveils new Lifebook S6410

Dubai, June 4, 2007

Fujitsu Siemens Computers has launched its new Lifebook S6410 that weighs a mere 1.7 kg and has a battery life of up to one working day.

The new 13.3-inch notebook with Intel Centrino Duo processor technology provides mach 3 performance while delivering even more reliability, connectivity and independence to mobile users.

The Lifebook S6410 tops in connectivity – offering mobile internet access, anytime, anywhere via embedded UMTS/HSUPA.

According to market researcher IDC, within two years, one quarter of all employees will no longer be sitting in a conventional office workplace, with the number of mobile workers soaring to 850 million by 2009 (a clear indication of where the notebook market is heading to).

“The new series is optimised to meet the needs of this growing segment. When designing the Lifebook S6410, we also placed particular emphasis on the high security standards needed for mobile working,” said a company spokesman.

The Lifebook S6410, which has a biometric fingerprint sensor, comes with a magnesium housing to minimise impact, and boasts a spill-proof keyboard that prevents water from seeping into the system, while allowing enough time for the user to shut down safely in case of a spillage.

In addition, a ShockSensor protects the hard disk from vibration or shock, and the RecoveryButton averts loss of data.

The  notebook with a modular bay  will be available across the region from July. - TradeArabia News Service
