Asry signs up DHL Bahrain for express transportation services

The Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (Asry), the leading ship and rig repair yard in the Arabian Gulf, said it has signed a cooperation agreement with DHL International -Bahrain-, the global leader in the logistics and shipping industry, for express international door-to-door transportation of documents and parcels.
 
Asry said the alliance is aimed at streamlining its supply chain processes and optimizing its operations through the implementation of the integrated logistics solutions that DHL will commit to provide for the next two years as per the signed agreement. 
 
This partnership will enable Asry to enhance its delivery capabilities; improving efficiency, bringing agility to the business, and ultimately streamlining the ability to serve customers, it stated.   
 
"We are extremely proud to embark on this collaboration with DHL Bahrain; that is one of the world’s leading companies who possesses extensive experience in logistics and international shipping," remarked Asry Acting CEO Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa after signing the deal with DHL General Manager for Bahrain at an official ceremony held at its headquarters in Hidd, in the presence of senior officials from both parties. 
 
"DHL Bahrain has been our logistic partner for many years during which it has demonstrated its outstanding capabilities and competitive abilities," he noted. 
 
"We are excited to further develop this fruitful relationship and look forward to a successful and sustainable partnership, he added.
 
The Arabian Gulf’s most experienced maritime repair and fabrication facility, Asry was founded in 1977 in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Its leading range of facilities includes a 500 K dwt dry-dock, two floating docks of 252m and 227m in length, 15 repair berths with a total length of approximately 5,000m, twin 255m slipways, and a full range of workshops and service centres. 
 
Asry operates in four sectors – ship repair and conversion, rig repair and conversion, naval repair and conversion, and fabrication and engineering.
