Khalifa Fund to showcase SMEs from hospitality sector at SIAL
ABU DHABI, December 9, 2018
The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (KFED) will be showcasing its small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the food and beverage and hospitality sectors which comprise 18 per cent of the fund's projects at the upcoming SIAL Middle East 2018.
The event will run from December 10 to 12, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The fund’s participation in SIAL Middle East 2018 complements the fund's ongoing efforts to support entrepreneurs and to promote a culture of entrepreneurship by supporting them in exploring new markets, expanding business horizons, promoting their products and services, and by developing their businesses in line with the Abu Dhabi Government Accelerator’s Program ‘Tomorrow 21,’ launched by HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to build a sustainable, knowledge-based economy, to motivate business and investment, and to develop the society and a culture of innovation.
The fund is participating in the ninth edition of the exhibition, which is being held by SIAL Group in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and chairman of Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority.
The three-day exhibition features an array of SMEs in the hospitality, food and beverage sectors, including “Danat Food Industries”, “Gahwat Al Mashahir”, “Aldar Pickles”, “Excellence Meats”, as well as “Organic bandle tea trading L.L.C”, and “Za’arei”.
Abdulla Saeed Al Darmaki, CEO of Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, emphasised the importance of participating in such local, regional and international exhibitions, in line with the Fund's keenness to support SMEs in the export of its their products to other countries in the Middle East and East Asia.
He highlighted the role of these exhibitions and events in achieving the fund’s goals of promoting and developing local SMEs. These will be achieved by helping entrepreneurs and founders of these projects in the delivery of their services and products, by providing an overview of their operations and by identifying new markets for sustainable growth, and by continuing the work towards creating a business environment, which is conducive for the growth and development of entrepreneurship in the UAE.
This will be built on the foundations of innovation, creativity and adoption of latest technologies such as artificial intelligence, ensuring its competitiveness in local, regional and international markets.
Al Darmaki added: “We continue to work towards implementing a range of initiatives and programmes aimed at providing the necessary support to entrepreneurs, ensuring the fruition of their ideas and projects, which lead to success and prosperity, boosting the country's GDP and economic diversification.”
