Arab fertilisers export to Brazil hits $518m
DUBAI, July 22, 2018
The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) revealed that $518 million worth of fertilisers were exported by the Arab region to Brazil during the first six months of 2018.
According to ABCC, the high quantity of fertilisers exported from the Arab region into Brazil demonstrated the strong ties maintained by countries like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Egypt among others.
Kuwait exported $58.64 million worth of fertilisers to Brazil, Saudi Arabia $48.13 million, while UAE exported $42.87 million. Egypt achieved $32.53 million and Bahrain posted $24.88 million, said a statement from the chamber.
The vibrant export activity also reflects Brazil's keenness towards working closely with countries within the Arab region, it added.
Michel Alaby, secretary general and chief executive officer, ABCC, said: “We are proud to announce that the Arab world exported a total of $518 million worth of fertilisers to Brazil.”
“Most Arab countries performed excellently during the first six months of 2018. Brazil continues to express its commitment towards working closely with countries in the Arab world in order to help increase mutual trade across all markets, including fertilisers,” he concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
