Spatial to manufacture mid-cabin exit trainer for Indian firm

UAE, June 25, 2018

UAE-based Spatial Composite Solutions, a leading provider of cabin crew training simulators, has been selected by India-based Flywings Simulator Training Centre (FWSTC) to manufacture an A321 mid-cabin exit trainer.

The fully functional, high fidelity mid-cabin simulator will incorporate a Type C door and A321NX ACF overwing exit and enable the comprehensive training of cabin crew in the safe operation of the doors in all normal and potential emergency situations onboard A321 aircraft, said a statement from the company.

An intuitive Instructor Operator Station (IOS) will enable the simulation of any malfunction situation by the trainer including power assist failures, handle and door jams and slide auto-inflation failures, it said.

Designed and built to withstand the rigours of high volume training, the device will include door visual simulations, passenger service units and drop-down oxygen masks.

The device will be delivered to FWSTC within 3 months. Based in Gurugram, FWSTC is one of India’s major providers of training services to airline pilots and cabin crew in the region, it added.

Vikas Khanna, head of operations at FWSTC, said: “This is the first A321 mid-cabin door training device in India and complements FWSTC’s existing two A320 trainers, including an A320 Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainer manufactured by Spatial. With the A321 fleet rapidly increasing its footprint in the global aviation market we anticipate an increase in demand for A321 cabin safety door training in the near future.”

“We look forward to continuing our business relationship with Spatial who we are grateful to for delivering quality training devices and providing unmatched customer support,” he said.

Marc Van den Broucque, managing director, Spatial, said: “India’s a growing market for us and we’re very excited to have been awarded this contract by one of the country’s leading airline training academies.”

“We’re determined to keep building the industry’s highest quality cabin crew training devices in the shortest time frames in order to exceed our customers’ expectations and set new industry standards,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
